Happy Labor Day & My 100th Post!

Wow it's already been 8 months since I started this blog & I'm on my 100th post. I know, I know, I should have waaay more posts by now. I'm honestly not the best blogger. Nor am I the best Monday To-Do list keeper.

1. Well, I'm going to try my best this week to finish my goal. Last week I opted to fix my little bedroom nook & that didn't happen because I realized I didn't have all my things & I'm on a super tight budget. SOO I'll be keep the same goal for this week because I'm going to spend all morning today at my parent's home gathering everything I need.

Wouldn't it be such a dream to have a little hut to house your bed like that?! I NEED one!!

2. My mom's been giving me a hard time about my health for the past few days so I'm going to promise myself to eat even better this week.

Oh & Happy Labor Day everyone! All of you hard workers deserve a nice day off! (:

Friday Feature: Tattoo Artist Saira Hunjan.

Another Friday Feature & yet another tattoo artist I can only dream of being tattooed by. What is it about female British tattoo artists that allures me so much to their beautiful artwork?! Saira Hunjan's artwork is, simple, pretty & traditional. The colors she uses are also amazing! I discovered her in this little tattoo book I picked up at Barnes & Noble.

There's something that's different about the work of a female tattoo artist. I think it's how a lot of these ladies pay attention to pretty detail like in the clothing or scarves of the tattoo. Or maybe it's the whimsical subjects they choose to tattoo. Hmm.. I'm seriously thinking about saving my pennies for a tattoo when I'm in London next summer..

(*Sorry for the late post.. I was working on it the other day & then my internet started flipping out.)

A Peek At My Messy Apartment.

Now since I live in my own place it's easier for me to choose what I want in my pantry. So I've been trying to eat healthier!

I've also been working on this for the past few days for my painting class. Who knew how hard it was to paint clouds?!

Please excuse my huuuuuge mess! I still haven't found a home for everything yet.

Ugh, I seriously need some floral & color in my life! My place look's like a bachelor pad. Haha. The last picture is of my temporary bedroom. It's cooler in the living room so that's where I stay most of the time. I've still got tons to do!

Monday To-Do List.

So this is the 3rd week I've been at my apartment & I've got so much more to go on making it "homey". This week I really want to tackle my bedroom.. or more like my bed nook.

The last few are kids rooms, but I think that's why they're so great. I love how whimsical they are!

Friday Feature: Artist Jared Andrew Schorr.

I came across Jared Andrew Schorr's work a little while ago on another blog. I immediately fell in love with it because of his unique technique. It's not painting, nor is it drawing, but it's simply cut paper with an xacto knife. I think it's so creative! Having worked with xacto knives before I can definitely say it's not always easy to get the shapes you want & it take a lot of patience.

Amazing right? I love all the inventive shapes & bright colors he uses! I would've posted more of my favorites, but for some odd reason blogger won't let me!?

Monday To-Do List: Wednesday Edition.

Sorry for the lack of updates! I'm still trying to adjust to my new schedule. It's seriously messing me up since I have night classes. I finally got my internet at my apartment, too.

So for this week's To-Do list all I really want is to keep trying to make my apartment into a home. The downside to my brother & I sharing a one bedroom is that I don't really get my own space. My workspace is basically the kitchen, but that's kind of a plus. I'm also trying to figure out what house plants will thrive in my shady apartment. I need some green in my home!

I think these are so pretty! I can't paint my walls so I have to find alternative ways to bring some color in.

Friday Feature: Tattoo Artist Valerie Vargas.

As an artist I have come to appreciate all types of art. So that also includes tattoos! Well done, clean-lined, beautifully colored tattoos. With so many tattoo artists out there sometimes it's hard to find one that really puts out quality work. I came across Valerie Vargas' work on fuckyeahtattoos one day & I guess I got lucky because with all those entries being put in it's easy to miss the good stuff. I instantly fell in love with her work when I looked her up.

At first glance her tattoos look just like any other classic tattoos, but when you take a closer look at the detail you'll see why she's got a never ending waiting list. I love her clean lines & vibrant colors, it all just looks so smoothly done! My friends think I should get a tattoo done by her next year when we're in London, but It's definitely something I need to think about more.. but it would be lovely!
