Friday Feature: Tattoo Artist Saira Hunjan.

Another Friday Feature & yet another tattoo artist I can only dream of being tattooed by. What is it about female British tattoo artists that allures me so much to their beautiful artwork?! Saira Hunjan's artwork is, simple, pretty & traditional. The colors she uses are also amazing! I discovered her in this little tattoo book I picked up at Barnes & Noble.









There's something that's different about the work of a female tattoo artist. I think it's how a lot of these ladies pay attention to pretty detail like in the clothing or scarves of the tattoo. Or maybe it's the whimsical subjects they choose to tattoo. Hmm.. I'm seriously thinking about saving my pennies for a tattoo when I'm in London next summer..

Friday Feature: Artist Jared Andrew Schorr.

I came across Jared Andrew Schorr's work a little while ago on another blog. I immediately fell in love with it because of his unique technique. It's not painting, nor is it drawing, but it's simply cut paper with an xacto knife. I think it's so creative! Having worked with xacto knives before I can definitely say it's not always easy to get the shapes you want & it take a lot of patience.








Amazing right? I love all the inventive shapes & bright colors he uses! I would've posted more of my favorites, but for some odd reason blogger won't let me!?

Friday Feature: Tattoo Artist Valerie Vargas.

As an artist I have come to appreciate all types of art. So that also includes tattoos! Well done, clean-lined, beautifully colored tattoos. With so many tattoo artists out there sometimes it's hard to find one that really puts out quality work. I came across Valerie Vargas' work on fuckyeahtattoos one day & I guess I got lucky because with all those entries being put in it's easy to miss the good stuff. I instantly fell in love with her work when I looked her up.









At first glance her tattoos look just like any other classic tattoos, but when you take a closer look at the detail you'll see why she's got a never ending waiting list. I love her clean lines & vibrant colors, it all just looks so smoothly done! My friends think I should get a tattoo done by her next year when we're in London, but It's definitely something I need to think about more.. but it would be lovely!

Friday Feature: Artist Kerti

So I stumbled upon Kerti's work just last week while looking through lookbook.nu. Not only does she have amazing style, but she's an amazing artist, too! I love it!











I love how whimsical & pretty her work is! Oh & may I say, her photography is beautiful, too! It's funny because I'm working on an Audrey Hepburn piece right now. I'll give you all a peek tomorrow. (:

Friday Feature: Artist Sylvia Ji.

So I'm going to change things up a bit. A lot of other bloggers do posts about music artists, or favorite photos, etc. basically what my "Friday Finds" posts have been about. So instead of posting random photos that many have already seen before I'm going to feature some of my favorite artists.

I know I've mentioned her before, but Sylvia Ji is truly an amazing artist. I love her style of painting & I've always loved the elegant portraits she paints. Growing up in Southern California, it is heavily influenced by Mexican & Native American culture so I've always loved the rich colors & patterns. A lot of her art have also been turned into tattoos, which look amazing!














I love, love, love her 2010 collection. I'm hoping to see her gallery show in Los Angeles this December!
